Award Winning Pianist and Filmmaker Team Up
To Create A Dynamic Live Concert Film At Steinway & Sons, NYC
Manhattan, NYC (Dec. 15th, 2015)- On Friday Dec. 25th, the “first of it’s kind” live solo piano concert by pianist Logan Evan Thomas at Steinway & Sons, NYC will be available for the world to see. Instead of hosting the concert in a private performance room upstairs, Mr. Thomas was influenced by the original founders’ idea of a public performance space, and insisted that it were to be held in the showroom on street level in order to maximize visibility to the public passer-byers.
Although this idea had never before been executed at Steinway & Sons, NYC, artistic visionary director Jazart Rex, in collaboration with Jalreign Media, Caverock Music jumped at the opportunity, creating the enhanced ambience of the performance arena, and capturing the performance with a creative multi angle camera shoot. Together, Thomas and Rex were able to create a dynamic, interactive live concert experience film. In addition to the full one hour and 30 minute complete concert edition, Jazart Rex has created a series of completely new individual song edits with a bit more of his signature video art infused in, and will be releasing each song separately following the original feature release.
None of this would have been possible without the help of Steinway representative, Aaron Kruziki who saw the vision and pulled the strings to help create the event. Together they worked with Angela Sowon Song and her Jazz and Wine meet up group to sell tickets and fill the house. Her company website is: www.meetup.com/winejazz/. Mr. Thomas performed a diverse selection of music on a beautiful 9-foot Steinway D piano, playing a few songs from his recently released solo piano album “From The Heart”, a world premiere of a few new original pieces, arrangements of jazz standards and popular music, as well as some 18th century classical masterpieces.
